Grand Haven

Last night my husband and I had a date night....sort of. I told him we were going out to Grand Haven, just the two of us! He said, "got a photo session?" Sheepishly, I answered, "yes." So, he grabbed my backup camera and we headed out to the lakeshore. The night was warm, but not hot. Breezy and sometimes downright windy! But , thankfully, the storm clouds rolled in as we wrapped up. Then we headed to dinner at this excellent Italian place on the way out of town. Overall, it was a very nice evening. I know this mom is anxiously awaiting a sneek peak but I had such a hard time choosing a handful of pics for her! The girls are just precious in their fluff skirts. Oh, to be a little girl again!!

Huh? August?

You know the old cliche, "Time flies when you're having fun?" Yep, its true.

It happens when you're busy, too! And that have I been this week!! With somewhere around a dozen sessions and more to come, I am just overloaded with editing. But, before summer ends, I want to savor the warm breezes, the bright flowers with bumblebees , and the laughter of children.
I was able to take some photos for a friend of mine this week. Her baby girl is already three and starting preschool this fall! V actually reminds me of myself at this age. Happy, busy and that long wavy blond hair (soon to be gone and donated).....

Rainy Day? Not!

So it didn't rain after all. I rescheduled most of my sessions today. Except for two. And they turned out great! The overcast sky provided PERFECT light and of course I had exceptionally cute subjects, don't you think?

MID-SUMMER......?

So, here it is. Independence Day morning. My husband is outside cleaning up tree branches from the storm we had on Wednesday. Its 10:00 a.m. and we are hosting our annual BBQ & Bocce at 3:00pm. We have about 20 people coming over. And what am I doing? I'm lying in bed with my computer, editing photos with Playhouse Disney on t.v. in the background, and a toddler with nothing but a diaper on pasted to the window completely enamored with daddy's "tractor." Ahh....summer!



This week I photographed a friend's children, two newborns and two toddlers. It was a busy week! This young man insisted on appearing "in character" prior to wearing what his mother selected!

New Website!

So I have a new website. I feel like I'm on my way now! I picked up a new lens and some other paraphernalia. I also just completed my class at Kendall. Kind of sad, actually. It was a lot of fun. But, I'm excited to see where God leads me next. I have some things lined up but I'm also eager for more! A couple classmates and a new friend came over this week for a "play-n-shoot." While our kids played, we were shooting my babysitter and her friend. Despite my best-laid plans, it rained in the a.m. (forecast said p.m.) and I figured we'd be outside so I just shut my bedroom door to the disaster that is my bed, desk, storage and, apparently, the kid's toyroom. After it began to downpour we searched for sheltered areas to shoot, one being the covered deck off....yep, you guessed it....my bedroom/office/closet/toybox. Here's a couple of my favorites.....

Bridal Session

Thursday was a crazy day. After I dropped the kids off to school, I headed in to work for about four and a half hours. That's the law firm, one of my sixteen jobs! From there I rushed around town to make my way over to Lisa Kae's studio to second shoot a bridal session with her. Its wasn't a typical bridal session in that the bride had two dresses: a traditional Chinese red satin dress and also a white bridal gown. She was just beautiful and it was so much fun to celebrate with her as she anticipates her wedding day. Here are some of my favorites....
