Rain + Wedding on Farm = Happily Ever After, but wet

So I shot with TAK again on Friday and the weather appeared to be clearing.  The entire event was held at Post Family Farm in Hudsonville, MI.  Very fun and non-traditional!  However, a nasty storm front rolled through just before the ceremony and so we all squeezed in under the pavillion.  It was still a beautiful wedding and everyone had a great time!

The Proposal

Here's a story, about Travis & Dana...

Travis decided to finally propose.  He wanted it to be special, so he planned to take Dana on a picnic, to the zoo, and finally to a B&B on Lake Michigan where he would ask the question at sunset.  He wanted everything photographed so he could create an album for her to keep.  This is the last stop, the presentment of the ring....

The Rock.

After dinner out, the couple returned to the B&B to enjoy some wine on the lawn overlooking Lake Michigan...
The wine...
Travis disappeared to go retrieve the ring!
Look at that empty finger!
Ah...sweet kiss

Travis takes Dana's hand and leads her to the edge of the bluff looking down towards the water.
Halfway down the stairs to the beach is a little landing.  They take a moment to enjoy the view...
Dana sits down on the bench and suddenly Travis drops to one knee.  She hardly knows what to do!
Dana has been longing for this day and its finally here!!

She is so excited!  She can't believe he planned the whole thing and she never suspected!

Travis is relieved and happy that all his planning paid off....she said YES!

Some ring shots.  Isn't it beautiful?

Baby "A"

As part of my very busy weekend, I had the awesome privilege of photographing baby "A".  She is just as sweet as can be, too!  As is par for newborns that see me, she did not want to sleep. At the end, however, she couldn't resist catching a little catnap, and I just loved the sleeping babe shots!

Classic Beauty

Saturday morning wasn't looking too good weather-wise.  After checking three different weather reports, I found one that sounded pretty decent.  It turned out way better than expected!  Blue skies and sunshine covered the backyard ceremony of Elise & Scott.
Elise has a classic beauty, even without makeup.  I had just remarked to my husband how I wanted to shoot a wedding in a 1940s movie star style.  Elise was the perfect bride for this "role."

The gown was simple but very elegant.
A classic black suit for the groom.
The groom and his brothers....mafia style.
All the flowers were assembled in the garage that morning.  Such beauty in the midst of typical garage "junk"....peonies and roses. Mmmmm.
Something blue....

A beautiful day for beautiful people.  Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Brunner, Sr. for opening their home for this very special day!

Birthday Goodness

Miss Delaney is turning one!  I can't believe how much she has grown!  She is now a full blown toddler, and while she refuses to wear any of the cute hats her mother has bought for her, she was totally diggin' the birthday princess crown!

And then a couple with big sister, Abby!
