Diamonds are a girl's best friend

I have so many beautiful images from this weekend's wedding I don't know how to choose!  Ever since Jaime was a little girl she dreamed of marrying her prince and riding off in a horse-drawn carriage.  With those kinds of dreams, its not surprising that this was a first class wedding with attention to detail....LOTS of details!  The bridal party met at Sorella's salon in Cascade with a bagel buffet and mimosas.  These girls were ready for a good time!  Next on the itinerary was getting ready at the JW Marriott.  It just happened that the room everyone was dressing in overlooked downtown, and specifically, the Ledyard Building where Jaime was to meet her prince!

The princess bride departed the hotel in a beautiful ivory satin gown, with exquisite beading detail, and a velvety fur-trimmed cape, in her horse-drawn carriage.  The only missing ingredient in this fairytale was the sun.  Nevertheless, Jaime was about to marry the man of her dreams!

The ceremony was a beautiful candlelit intimate setting inside the Ledyard Building in the atrium called La Scala.  Jaime gracefully floated down the grand staircase to her awaiting groom where they pledged their love for one another.  Sigh.....

But wait!  There's more!  The fairytale also included a fair amount of bling.  Take a look at THIS eye candy!!!!

Notice the rhinestones on the cake...

This is the biggest diamond ring I've EVER seen!

The beading on this dress was first class.

Oh, and this sassy little jogging suit...

Even the bridal veil had lovely detailed touches.

Have a wonderful honeymoon in Mexico!  And please, avoid the pigs!

Sunshine with a hint of monsoon!

Friday was a gorgeous day in Michigan.  Sunshine and warm breezes.  I even got a little pink to my face!  However, because it IS Michigan, the weather changed overnight into a dreary, cold, rainy and super windy day.  Here's a reminder of summer days yet to come!

Its like Rain....on your wedding day

Saturday's forecast was showing 80 and sun all week.  Reality?  Wind, rain and low 70s.  But even the weather couldn't dampen her spirit when it came to being united with her man!  Here's a sneak peek with more to come later!

More Springtime Smiles

These little beauties came out on the most gorgeous day of the year so far!  Temps in the 70s, sunshine, LOVE IT!  We started in the studio in Easter finery (make the most of those outfits!) and then changed to go play outside.  The boy and older girl are three-year-old twins with a two-year-old sister.  Talk about one busy family!

Mother's Day

There's a song that will bring tears to the eyes of ANY mother that I love simply entitled, "A Mother's Day" by Jim Brickman.  These are the lyrics:

Mom and Dad were reading in the den
Mom said, 'I'm gonna go to bed, it's late.'
She went to the kitchen to make three
School lunches another night in a mother's day.
Put the cereal bowls out for breakfast,
Set the coffee maker for 6:00am;
Sewed a loose button on brother's shirt for him;

Checked sister's math homework, sent a note to the teacher,
Added eggs to the grocery list;
Started a load of wash, made sure the doors were locked,
Put water in the puppy's dish;
Wrote a check to the children's piano teacher,
Turn the dishwasher on;
And Dad called out, 'Honey what's takin' you so long?'

Have I ever thanked you for everything you've done?
Now all that I can say is, 'I love you Mom.'

Hung some art on the refrigerator door and
Headed up the stairs;
Kissed all the children and helped Sister comb her
Wavy golden hair.
Washed her make-up off and turned on the bath;
Lay down in the moon soft light
And kissed dad goodnight.

Have I ever thanked you for everything you've done?
Now all that I can say is, 'I love you Mom.'

Thank you for nursing me through all those colds and fevers;
Thank you for believin' in me when they were no other believers.

And it's never too late to say, 'I love you Mom.'

These are three generations of beautiful moms.

Frederick Meijer Gardens

Easter weekend proved to be a gorgeous reminder of new life with its springtime splendor. This was especially evident at the Frederick Meijer Gardens where Sarah and Robert entered their life together as one.  Sarah is a longtime friend of the fabulous Theresa of TAK Photography, so I was happy to assist.  Robert's father had passed away and so it was with great sentiment that they rode off on his father's beloved John Deere.

A.W.O.L.

I realize its been a while since I've posted a new entry.  All of March I have been photographing families at church for a new pictorial directory.  I think I've shot about 130 families.  We're taking a break until after Easter.  Whew!  In the meantime, I had the privilege to photograph my good friend's grandbabies again.  As a mom of a toddler myself, I can see the humor in raising boys, experiencing toddlerhood, and being just plumb tuckered out!  But I love it.  And I especially love to photograph them!
Piggies!

Then we had to add big brother.

Then big brother tried to steal the show!  How could I resist those huge brown eyes?
