Its beginning to look a lot like.........Christmas?

Where do the days go?  Seriously.  I simply cannot believe we've come around to winter again. Today I'm looking out the window and its breathtaking -- gently falling snow on evergreen boughs...  If only it didn't last soooo long.  Just a few short months ago, I photographed this family at the beach on Lake Michigan.  It was a balmy evening with a stormy breeze blowing in over the lake.  Now we are bundled up and scurrying to get a few good shots before running back inside (albeit the girls wore the same skirts as the beach shoot -- so very versatile!).  Here's a sneak peek for their mom before they head off to a warmer state for the holiday.

And sometimes, that's just how it goes....

We want a photograph for our grandmother. We have two toddlers and a baby. That's what was requested when I agreed to attempt this session. Here are some of the outtakes......

NHCA Family

My kids attend a wonderful small Christian school in Grand Rapids. Its a different kind of school, its a Classical curriculm. I can't really explain it adequately here, but they have a very good website that can! Anyway, in an effort to to help support our school, I have offered to do family photo sessions, donating the sitting fee. Below is one family I recently photographed whose daughter is in first grade with mine. They have a gorgeous setting for their home, a little bit of country in the middle of town, complete with chickens! I absolutely loved the old weathered yard barn.

What a year to be a senior!

I have photographed many 2009 seniors, and many of them experienced their first time voting yesterday! No matter who you voted for, it was a date recorded in history and exciting for these seniors to take part in. I saw several young people standing in line with me and regardless of their political preference, I was proud to see so many taking interest and exercising this precious right with which we have been blessed. Whether you supported Obama or another party, we can be certain of the One who is truly in control and rest in His sovereignty. II Chronicles 7:13-14.

OK, here is Mikaelah's sneak peek!

These eyes are gorgeous!

Fallin' in Love

Last weekend I shot a wedding with TAK Photography. It was gorgeous weather for the first day of November! The leaves were golden, the sun was golden and air was clear with a touch of fall. This couple will be honeymooning in Mexico....quite a different experience than the one I just had, that's for sure!
